Cedral Terrace, an ecological and sustainable choice

A terrace is a pleasant living area where you can spend time with your loved ones. It is a meeting space where memories are made. Marlène recently chose Cedral Terrace to renovate her terrace and she explains why she preferred fibre cement over wood or composite terrace planks.

Why renovate your terrace?

People underestimate the value of an outdoor space where you can invite people, spend cosy moments together or take quality time for yourself. Especially in the warmer seasons, it extends your home into your garden or onto your roof. It really is an extra living area that allows you to enjoy the fresh air and the good weather.

To create the best conditions for your outdoor enjoyment, we recommend choosing a terrace that doesn’t only look great, but that also has a pleasant feel and that is particularly low-maintenance. With Cedral fibre-cement terrace planks, you combine all these qualities into a modern terrace.

Testimonial: why Marlène chose Cedral Terrace

Marlène invited us into her luscious garden to show her gorgeous terrace. She explains why she chose Cedral fibre-cement terrace planks over wood:

"Our terrace was getting old and was in need of replacement. The wood was damaged and we feared we could step through it any moment. So, we decided to redo our terrace.

We wanted to combine beauty and sustainability. But the problem with wood is that only exotic hardwood is durable and robust. Besides being expensive, more often than not, tropical wood comes from forests that are not managed in sustainable way. Having seen the damage deforestation can do with our own eyes, our choice became obvious: Cedral Terrasse was the best alternative.”

A terrace 100% to our liking

“We opted for the colour red, because it fit perfectly into the rest of surroundings. Following the recommendations of the Cedral Terrasse installation guide, we drew a blueprint of our future terrace to make sure we ordered the necessary quantities of planks and accessories. We carried out the installation ourselves without any particular difficulties. It was a piece of cake!

We finished our terrace in September 2020. Looking back, we have to say that maintenance is very easy. We only need to pressure clean our terrace at the end of winter, because it is under a tree, and we are ready for the rest of the year. The colour has aged beautifully, acquiring a somewhat lighter but beautiful patina. We definitely recommend Cedral Terrace.”

The advantages of Cedral Terrace planks

Cedral Terrace planks are made of fibre cement, a composite material made from naturally available ingredients such as cement, sand, cellulose, water and air. The fibres make the planks extra strong and durable, guaranteeing you outdoor enjoyment for many years.

A special production process gives the terrace planks a special texture that is pleasant to the touch. This makes it the ideal surface for playing children or for walking barefoot on your terrace. And what’s more, it has anti-slip properties, even when wet.
