Creating an outdoor kitchen area with Cedral Terrace

What is the best material to create a pleasant outside living area? It should be solid, non-slippery (for the kids), easy to install and low maintenance. With Cedral Terrace the Pöllen family got a lot more than what they bargained for. Read their story below.

First a facade in fibre-cement boards, next a terrace

When Robert Pöllen (Germany) was looking for facade cladding for his family home, he came across Cedral Click. He was impressed with the quality and the looks of the fibre-cement weatherboards. On top of that, they were a sustainable, robust choice for his facade, and low-maintenance. Also an important criteria for a busy father of three.

Because of this positive experience with the fibre-cement cladding, Robert immediately thought of Cedral when he played with the idea of creating an outdoor kitchen area. If the fibre-cement boards combine aesthetics, sustainability, low-maintenance and quality for his facade, they would also be the perfect choice for a terrace in the garden.

Why did the Pöllen family choose Cedral Terrace?

The Pöllen family wanted to treat themselves to an outdoor kitchen, and inaugurate it on the 2nd birthday of their daughter Felicitas. We asked Robert why they choose Cedral Terrace. “Cedral was simply the best building material for us. It has a nice design, it is timeless and still very modern. There are many colours to choose from, as you can see on the website. And it is not slippery, quite important if you have running children around. It also feels great when you walk on it barefoot. It is a robust material, that is more resistant to weather influences than wood. We think it is a cool product and it was easy to install it ourselves. The installation guide is really clear and very detailed. Even less experienced DIY enthusiasts like myself can achieve great results.”

Cedral Terrace looks modern and stands out

Anja, Robert’s partner, agrees: “We installed the Cedral Terrace ourselves and it was not hard at all. The base structure required a bit more attention, but once you start laying the Cedral Terrace planks, it goes very smoothly. And while you are working on it, you can already see how nice it will turn out and that’s really motivating. We are really happy and proud about our new terrace. We wanted a terrace that would stand the test of time. I didn’t want to paint or wax the wood of our terrace every few years. With Cedral Terrace, you don’t need to fear that it rots because fibre-cement doesn’t rot or get mould. The best of all is that it doesn’t require a lot of maintenance and it is super easy to clean. Cedral Terrace looks modern and stands out. We ordered a sample before deciding, and it really felt pleasant. It is the kind of material you want to walk barefoot on.”
