You need reassurance that the roof you choose not only looks impressive but is also structurally sound and resilient to extreme weather. Cedral have been manufacturing fibre cement roof slates in Ireland for over 80 years. All of our fibre cement slates are Irish-made for Irish weather, giving you extra peace of mind.
We are so confident in our slates that we provide our customers with excellent guarantees. Cedral Thrutone Endurance and Rivendale slates are covered by a 20 year colour and a 30 year structural guarantee. Cedral Supercem slates offer a 10 year colour and a 30 year structural guarantee. Our natural slates vary in guarantee depending on product. Torres and Molina are covered by a 50 year guarantee.

Cedral TECTA Texture - 30 Year Colour and Structural Guarantee
Cedral Tecta Texture slates are manufactured in France in accordance with the European Norm EN 492:2012.
Use: Tecta Texture slates are for use on pitched roofs, or hung vertically in accordance with the fixing of fibre cement slates as specified in the Irish Code of Practice for Slating and Tiling SR82, or the British Code of Practice for Slating and Tiling BS5534:2014 and BS8000: Part 6. Reference should also be made to Cedral’s Fibre Cement Slates Fixing Guide.
Structural Guarantee: Tecta Texture slates meet the requirements of EN 492:2012 and when fixed in accordance with SR82 and BS5534:2014 carry a 30 year structural
guarantee from the date of manufacture. If during the period of guarantee the product is found not to conform to the stated properties in the Product Standard EN492, the affected slates will be replaced at no cost.
Colourisation: The colourisation system used on Tecta Slate is a multi-stage UV-curing process, where a film of UV paint is applied to the fibre cement substrate and then textured using an Excimer UV lamp in a nitrogen-rich environment, before being fully cured with standard UV lamps creating a premium matt finish.
Weathering: On exposure the slate surface and/or its coating will be affected by weathering which may vary with site location, aspect, pitch of roof and duration of exposure. Any deterioration in this respect shall not detract from the mechanical and physical characteristics as specified in the standard or from the function of the slate as a durable element.
Colour Guarantee: Etex Ireland Limited guarantees that the Cedral Tecta Texture slate will not suffer significant and permanent change in colour for a period of 30 years from the date of purchase subject to the following conditions and limitations:
The appearance and consistency of the colour is to be assessed from the ground and from a reasonable distance.
Over time as the slate ages a reduction in the intensity of colour or some fading is to be expected, and any such change does not constitute significant colour change within the meaning of this colour guarantee.
Over time rainwater may gradually deposit sediment on the slate and a white border may appear around the edges of the slate. This does not constitute significant colour change within the meaning of this colour guarantee.
Different aspects of a roof will be exposed differently to weather and therefore over time a variation in colour may occur between the different roof aspects. This does not constitute significant colour change within the meaning of this colour guarantee.
Weather, moss and lichen can cause shallow cracks and indentations to appear on the surface of a slate. This does not constitute significant colour change and does not affect the structural integrity of the slates.
Damage caused to the surface of a slate during handling, installation, cleaning or otherwise is excluded from this colour guarantee. The obligation of Etex Ireland Limited pursuant to this colour guarantee is limited to a refund of the purchase price paid for the slate and is further limited as follows; in years 1 to 10 after purchase - 100% of the purchase price will be refunded, in years 11 to 20 after purchase – 75% of the purchase price will be refunded and in years 21 to 30 after purchase – 50% of the purchase price will be refunded.This colour guarantee does not extend to any other costs or expenses whatsoever to include but not limited to; the cost of removal and replacement of the slate.
This colour guarantee is personal to the first end user of the slate and is non transferrable.
THIS COLOUR GUARANTEE IS SEPARATE, INDEPENDENT OF AND ADDITIONAL TO THE STATUTORY RIGHTS OF A CONSUMER
