Cedral: a sustainable, low-maintenance solution for your facade

When renovating or cladding the facade of your building, you want to create an optimal protection for your home but at the same time, you don’t want to jeopardise the future of your children and our planet if you choose facade boards that have a detrimental impact on the environment.

Cedral weatherboards are made of fibre cement. This is an ultra-durable light-weight material composed of natural ingredients like Portland cement, sand, chalk and natural fibres (cellulose). The Cedral facade panels are produced in a sustainable way, with as little raw materials, water and energy as possible.

And once you selected a sustainable product for your facade, you don’t want to spend a lot of time keeping it in good shape, and especially not with chemical or toxic stains and paints. The Cedral facade panels come in factory-applied UV-resistant colours, so that you can enjoy your facade for years with only minimal maintenance. A cloth with soapy water is all you need to keep them as new.

Cedral sidings are made of high-quality fibre cement. The natural components to produce the weatherboards are sourced locally, cutting down on transport. The smart mix of cement and fibres creates an ultra-strong material, allowing builders to reach the same durable performance with fewer natural resources. The lightweight finished product, in turn, has a smaller transport footprint to deliver it to your doorstep.

What’s more, we actively reduce waste, and recycle close to 100% of the water and refuse of our internal production lines.

Lightweight facade materials, like the Cedral weatherboards, are an environmentally sensible choice, especially if you use them to revive an existing building, instead of tearing it down. But of course, you can also use fibre cement cladding for your new-built extensions. Our weatherboards have an expected lifespan of 50 years if maintained properly, extending the life expectancy of your property considerably. And after that, the fibre cement sidings can be easily recycled into new fibre cement materials.

Durable quality with low maintenance

Cedral fibre cement weatherboards are as hard as stone and as versatile as wood in their application. You can use them for any design, both modern and traditional. The facade boards easily withstand the test of time, as they are resistant against frost and heat. They do not deform or decay when exposed to the elements, day in, day out, rain or shine. Cedral sidings are also resistant to moist and bacteria, keeping rot and mould at bay. Fibre cement facade boards are also impervious to insects, rodents or other pests, and they have an excellent fire classification, keeping your home safe.

Cedral weatherboards come in a variety of trendy colours. Multiple layers of UV-resistant paint are applied to the boards during the production process, making them a colour fast solution for your facade. Your home will maintain its beautiful, true colours for many years, without the need to (re)paint your facade. That is a major advantage over other materials, e.g. wood, that may require annual maintenance to prevent it from degrading. Once installed, the weatherboards do not require any specific maintenance. If they get dirty, you only need to wipe them with water and some (environmentally-friendly) soap or detergent. There is no need to sand, scrape, coat or treat the boards to keep your facade as new.
