The Menzel family lives in a gorgeous detached house in Sulingen, Germany. Some years ago, they created a pond in their garden to keep koi. Since they spend a lot of time outdoor enjoying the fish, the family replaced their old terrace and redesigned the centrepiece of their oasis in an appealing and practical way.
They choose Cedral Terrace because it is very durable and easy-maintenance. The decking boards are made of fibre-cement, an innovative and environmentally friendly composite material. The planks are dimensionally stable, so they don’t budge in any weather. The planks don’t get hot in the sun, which is very much appreciated by their dog’s paws.
Michael single-handedly laid the Cedral Terrace on an aluminium substructure. With the help of some friends, it was done in an afternoon and they were ready to enjoy. Thanks to the soft surface, the terrace is pleasant to walk on barefoot. And the decking boards are not slippery, even when wet. And that’s of course an important quality around a fish pond.
