Project description
On the picturesque banks of the River Tay, a retired couple set out to build their dream home, a modern beach house that would blend seamlessly with its scenic surroundings while requiring minimal upkeep.
Working with Blackdog Architects, the design team specified Cedral Click fibre cement cladding in White (C01) for its clean, contemporary look and exceptional durability. Installed horizontally, Cedral Click provided a timber-effect finish without the maintenance challenges of natural wood.
Ongoing maintenance was a priority for the design, and this underpinned our decision to specify Cedral Click. It offered the light shade and texture we wanted, complemented the overall design, and crucially delivered the low-maintenance solution we were seeking – Michael McGurk, Blackdog Architects
The modern flat appearance, combined with a subtle shadow gap from the tongue-and-groove profile, gave the property a sleek finish compared to traditional feather-edge cladding. The result is a dynamic new build that is both visually striking and practical for long-term enjoyment.
